The Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) sponsored their annual All-State Music Festival & Concert, held in conjunction with the Music Educators professional development conference. Students first auditioned for and participated in the Central MA Senior Music Festival, and earned a threshold score to qualify to audition for the state-wide festival.
Two students represented Hudson High School on Saturday morning, January 21st, 2017. They were Jacob Doherty Munro (French horn, Grade 11), and Thaya Zalewski (clarinet, Grade 12). A third student, Jack Snow (tenor voice, Grade 12) was eligible to audition, but was unable to audition due to illness.
Thaya Zalewski was selected for the festival, which will be held on March 9-11, 2017. The festival involves two full days of rehearsals at the Sheraton BOSTON hotel, and morning dress rehearsals followed by a concert scheduled for 1:00pm, on Saturday, March 11th 2017, at Symphony Hall, Boston, MA.
“The caliber of student musicianship from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts makes participation in this festival a distinct honor, and an emotionally and musically rich and rewarding experience. We can be very proud of our students for their achievements; please join me in congratulating them.” Mr. Jason P. Caron (HHS Band Director)
