Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is offering a bluebird box building workshop on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wolbach Farm in Sudbury. In this workshop, led by Jesse Koyen, SVT Land Stewardship Coordinator and MassLIFT AmeriCorps member, you will learn what bluebirds need for a good nesting place and assemble bluebird boxes from pre-cut materials. Learn about the decline of the Eastern Bluebird and the predator and habitat issues that have plagued these lovely native birds. Recent efforts to provide nesting boxes has made an impact in the bluebird rebounding population. You can take the nesting box home and install on your own property or offer to SVT for use in an appropriate local habitat. Open to adults and children 10 and older with an adult. Space is limited and registration is required. SVT Members:$25, Non-Members, $35.00; fee includes materials. For more details and to register, visit www.svtweb.org/programs or call 978-443-5588 X123.
